I’m Obsessed With Podcasts

People are really listening and want to consume all of the content that is there and available. There’s a level of dedication that comes from podcast listeners that you don’t otherwise find. And now the numbers prove it. Podcasts aren’t a bubble; they’re a boom — and that boom is only getting louder.
— Miranda Katz, Author at Wired

I’ve been listening to podcasts weekly since 2013, when Kid Fury and Crissle hit the scene with The Read. Since their inception, many others have followed in their footsteps, creating popular, relatable content in podcast form--much to my delight. I now have a constant rotation of podcasts for every day of the week.

Nine times out of 10, when you see me with my headphones in, I’m listening to a podcast. (Random tangent: I seriously really dislike when I have my headphones in, and unknown people try to talk to me. I usually smile and nod, having no idea what the person has said. I’m pretty sure having headphones in public is the universal sign for “don’t talk to me.”)

Listening to podcasts is a huge part of my routine. They can create conversations about topics that I am either already interested in or bring new topics to my awareness. I’m frequently sending episodes and specific clips to my friends and family to create dialogue. They often spark emotions that I may not otherwise know how to articulate.
